Economic Crisis: Perceptions and Strategies of the 40-year-olds

The article analyses how the 40-year-olds perceive world economic crisis of 2008 and systemizes the basic socio-psychological changes that happen in the everyday life of such respondents. The study was based upon the results of the survey conducted by method of focus groups (№=4) differed by sex and type of ego identity; the study revealed affective and cognitive features of the perception of the crisis, sources of information about the crisis, perceived changes in professional and family life, predicted social consequences and planned strategies to manage the crisis.
