The article 2 discusses fundraising — the process of mobilizing resources from external sources for socially important purposes. The analysis is based on the data from standardized face-to-face interviews with the leaders of nongovernmental organizations in 33 regions of the Russian Federation collected in 2015 (N=850), and in-depth interviews with NGO leaders and fundraising specialists. The article deals with mobilization of funds from various sources such as governmental institutions at different levels, businesses, nongovernmental organizations, foundations, individuals, describes different fundraising methods and channels, outlines a number of topics that help attract more donors, and defines trends and perspectives for the development of fundraising practices in Russia.Downloads
