The article represents an unpublished work of one of the most famous representatives of the Institute of Social Psychology - Russian sociologist Leontiy Alekseevich Byzov (1886-1942). The article encompasses both the activity of this Institution and its scientific research. The study covers the Institute development timeline, pays attention to the basic achievements of the scientific school, and considers the key scientific interests and paradigm profiles of its representatives. The work prepared by the author in 1923 could not be published due to ideological reasons and had been waiting for its readers for more than eighty years.
