Abstract

The authors consider the process of formation of the culture of safety in the context of the institutional development of the health care system and social services. According to the gender approach, safety is defined as a complex of necessary and sufficient factors that provide a decent life, protection of all spheres of life, protection of values, interests, culture, way of living, and traditions against unacceptable risks or any external and internal threats. Sociology of safety covers the problems of individual, family and social security in constantly changing environment. It forecasts future problems and proposes ways to resist scenarios threatening any forms of security. Gender identity plays an important role in experiencing the situation of safety. Gender roles of men and women go through substantial changes that have impact on their perception of security.
