Abstract

This article focuses on the study of the problem of aging of the fertility, since this trend has recently been observed in all developed countries, including Russia. In Russia, the relevance of this topic is reinforced by the growing proportion of women over 35 years of age among the entire fertile population. The analysis was conducted on the microdata of the sociological survey «Generation & Gender Survey».As a result of the study of the differences in factors influencing on the demographic behavior among women younger and elder the age of 35, some differences were identified for childless women. For young women satisfaction with housing is important, for women over 35 — financial stability. For women with children, there are no significant differences in factors depending on age. For women over 35, who replied that they would like more children, the likelihood of having another child is influenced by the partner’s parameters. For other women — the parameters of employment and education. The results obtained make it possible to conclude that to stimulate the birth rate among women over 35, it is necessary to strive for a more flexible approach to the distribution of female time between work and home. This is achievable through involving men in domestic affairs and promoting alternative forms of employment for young mothers in family and demographic policies.
