Abstract

The article presents an analytical review of the topic of urban health. The review is based on network analysis methodology of bibliometric sources ― 5597 articles from Web of Science, selected by keywords, and 2179 articles from the Journal of Urban Health, which is the flagship in the selected topic. The analysis aims to identify key areas of research and discussion in urban health. The analysis shows that the growth of interest in the field began about 50 years ago. In recent decades, there has been considerable discussion in the literature about the empirical study of factors influencing health, urban health care, social justice, and access to health care in urban communities, including the health of former prisoners and its impact on public health. Studying urban health is quite flexible and always focuses on topical social problems, including dangerous diseases, the availability of medicine, and marginalized groups that occupy a particular position in the urban environment.
