Life strategies of different age groups of Ukrainian society in an unstable social situation

Abstract

A high degree of tension in Ukrainian society generates a need to adapt to new conditions. Many people find it difficult especially the older generation. The article analyzes life strategies of different age groups in Ukraine against the backdrop of an unfavorable social situation in order to determine the extent to which social tension is a stimulus for actualization of internal resources.Based on the research data, it is concluded that an unfavorable social situation in Ukraine leads to a higher level of deprivation and a choice of protective and passive strategies, not acting as a sufficient incentive for activation of domestic resources. And first of all it concerns the older age group, whose life experience and potential turn out to be unoccupied in the new social conditions.
