Abstract

The article advances a concept of understanding the motives and setting through the resource approach based on theoretical analysis and rethinking of the existing developments. The originality of the study refers to the use of the resource approach which is grounded on the postulate stating that the subject's behavior is determined by the desire to always maintain or increase physical, moral and psychological resources. Labor motivation and labor settings (including corporate settings) are analyzed in this paper. Basic notions shaping the labor behavior are also described. The study holds significance for further analysis of the well known phenomena in the sociology of labor by use of the resource approach.
