Abstract

The author considers the value orientations of Russian students related to work, family and professional education. The article is based on the data of the poll conducted in 2013 among the 1-4-year students of the Siberian Institute of Management, Branch of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. The study aimed at revealing the students` value orientations concerning job, professional education, and family; a typology of students based on their life aspirations was designed; the author showed the evolution of the character of labor values of students and their attitudes towards professional education in 2000s. According to the results of the study, the students` values will definitely enhance the adaptability of young Russians to deal with difficulties all through their lives. Modern students stress the professionalism, strong family, and high quality education. Thus, the data obtained show that changes in value orientations of Russian students are going in a positive direction.
