The author makes an attempt to classify the approaches towards studying the academic motivation, to single out its key features though which it is being conceptualized. The most popular theories of the academic motivation such as drive theory, expectancy-value theory, attribution theory, self-efficacy theory, achievement goal theory and self-determination theory are considered by the author. The paper examines how all these theories are linked to each other, what conceptual framework they fit into. The conceptual framework proposed by the author can help the researchers to find the theoretical basis to measure academic motivation which will enable them to achieve the goal.Downloads
