Связь финансового стресса и решения бросить курить в России

Для России характерны высокие показатели распространенности курения и потерь, связанных с курением. Многие курильщики предпринимают попытки бросить вредную привычку или как минимум сообщают о таких намерениях. Это актуализирует задачу изучения причин отказа от курения, в том числе в условиях экономической нестабильности и финансового стресса. В статье на данных РМЭЗ НИУ ВШЭ за 2000—2023 гг. исследуется, как связаны решение об отказе от курения и финансовый стресс. Анализируются характеристики индивидуального стресса (его наличие, интенсивность), оценивается влияние четырех кризисных периодов в России (2008—2009, 2014—2015 и 2020—2021, 2022—2023 гг.) на принятие решения об отказе от курения. Используются модели логистической регрессии с фиксированными эффектами отдельно для мужчин и женщин. Помимо финансового стресса в модели включены социально-экономические характеристики респондентов — возраст, семейное положение, наличие детей, высшее образование, самооценка здоровья и уровень дохода. Согласно полученным результатам, низкий уровень стресса не способствует отказу от курения. Женщины отказываются от курения только при умеренном уровне финансового стресса, тогда как при высоком продолжают курить. Мужчины бросают курить на фоне как умеренного, так и высокого уровня стресса. Кризис 2014—2015 гг. побуждал курящих к отказу от курения, тогда как кризисы 2008—2009, 2020—2021, 2022—2023 гг. сопровождались снижением вероятности отказа от курения.
