Abstract

The book by Andy Lock and Tom Strong “Social Constructionism: Sources and Stirrings in Theory and Practice” published in Russian under the title How Does the Matrix Work? Social Construction of Reality: Theory and Practice” can be read and understood in different ways: either as a book about constructionist ideas in sociology and social psychology, or (and this is no less important in its own way) as evidence of the processes taking place in modern science. In this case, we are talking about the development of the science regarding human interactions and social structure in our era of the increasing role of communication and information processes. The review was prepared by Sergei Romashko, scientific editor of the Russian translation of the book.
